Having not built a PC in a while, I've little for comparison but it boots to a login prompt in 30 seconds and login completes in seconds. That's quite sufficient for my needs considering my old Dell Dimension took about 2 minutes to bring up the login prompt and another 2 minutes to complete login with those being conservative numbers.
Windows could not detect the device, so back the board went for an exchange.
Amazon's oustanding service replaced it with no troubles. The sound controller on the new board detected just fine and works like a champ. Hope it lasts!
Soft restarts are Sometimes it turns off and doesn't turn back on If it doesn't turn itself back on, you have to get up and hit the button. Minor complaint, I know.

Other than that I am happy with it. Everything else seems solid and dependable. Just so you take me with a grain of salt, I don't play with BIOS set it once, don't overclock, never went back. One other thing that I almost forgot is that this board has a Realtek soundcard built in.
The ASUS being said better than other companies is still evil. Their Tech support has a vast majority of people answering the phone just giving standard issued answers.

No training whatsoever in troubleshooting hence a nightmare even for an experienced user. However if you own a ROG Rampage Extreme motherboard and you know Raja you will be safer with support and will feel better also.
Also this is no good board to try to place it often in sleep mode when overclocked Asus SABERTOOTH X79 Rapid Storage it will simply not power up with manually set speeds over 4. I will not recommend you to buy it at a price over ,or you will surely experience some serious disappointments.
